Our office is on Silver Springs Blvd in Ocala, but we write golf cart and LSV policies anywhere in Florida. Some of our cart owners live a few miles away in The Villages. Others cruise around Bradenton, Sarasota, or a beach town where the cart gets more miles than the car. The questions are the same everywhere: is it a golf cart or an LSV, where do you drive it, and what happens if somebody gets hurt? We'll sort that out with you before we quote.

We are extremely satisfied with the quality of service we received from Jay and Alisha. They worked very hard to find the best Auto and Homeowners insurance. Saved us a bundle.
Great agency that really cares about giving its clients the best value and coverage. Takes the time to explain your coverage and how it works. Great follow up and personalized service. Recommend to anyone.
The Ritz Agency (Allstate) has been wonderful to work with. Had to make a claim, and it was painless! They make every effort to help me with everything I need. Thanks Ritz Agency!
A lot of people assume their homeowners policy has the cart covered. Sometimes it does, but often only on your own property or on a golf course, and often with a low limit. Once you head down a community path or across a road to get dinner, that coverage may stop. An LSV is a different story: it's a registered motor vehicle, and Florida treats it that way.

Medical payments for you and your riders, where available. Accessory coverage for lift kits, wheels, seats, lights, and sound systems. Tell us about every upgrade.

Under Florida law, a golf cart can't go faster than 20 mph. A low-speed vehicle tops out above 20 but no more than 25 mph. That one number decides almost everything else. A golf cart can only use roads a city or county has signed for carts, and only between sunrise and sunset unless the local government allows night driving and the cart has headlights, brake lights, turn signals, and a windshield. Drivers under 18 need a learner's license or driver license, and drivers 18 and up need a government photo ID. An LSV has to be titled, registered, and insured, the driver needs a valid license, and it can only run on streets posted 35 mph or less (crossing a faster road at an intersection is allowed). Registered vehicles in Florida have to carry $10,000 in PIP and $10,000 in property damage liability. Local rules can be stricter. Sarasota County's barrier islands and Bradenton-area beach towns don't all have the same rules as The Villages, so check with your city or county too.

Not on a standard golf cart, since it isn't registered. But if your cart hurts someone or damages property, you can be held responsible, and your HOA or lender may want proof of coverage.
Speed. A golf cart can't go faster than 20 mph. An LSV has a top speed over 20 but no more than 25 mph and needs equipment like headlamps, turn signals, a windshield, seat belts, and a VIN.
An LSV has to be titled, registered, and insured. Florida requires $10,000 in PIP and $10,000 in property damage liability on registered vehicles. Those minimums don't cover injuries you cause to others, so ask us about bodily injury liability too.
